I have a saying. A mantra, really.

“Stuff takes time.”

It’s an elementary concept, but I am about hard work for instant gratification. I want a huge repertoire, tons of shows, an album, a website, a media campaign, and a national tour, and I want it right now.

So, “stuff takes time” is important. It’s how I remind myself that success is not instantaneous, even when you’re busting your ass for it.

Arcati Crisis has been anything but instantaneous. We’ve known each other for over half our lives, but we’ve only played on each others’ songs for half that, and have only officially been Arcati Crisis for half that again. And, it’s only in the latter half of that last period that we’ve finally started to feel both competent and confident – like a real band should.

That gratification, though not instant, is pretty damn satisfying.

We still have a lot of backstage tomfoolery to manage before the band starts hammering you with deep thoughts, but please stay tuned!
